NERITE SNAIL THE BEST ALGAE EATER IN PLANTED TANK

Not Sold in Stores! Due to the popularity of our Nerite Snail, it may sell out. As of Today we do have a limited supply

These snails are young and around pea size. Two colored, black and yellow.
The Horned Nerite Snail is named for its horn-like appendages on its shell. The shell of the Horned Nerite Snail is very sturdy, with the horns providing them a defense mechanism against fish trying to eat them or even human beings during handling. It is an extremely docile creature and does not bother any other inhabitants.
They clean algae off of glass, plants, and decorations, they eat hair algae, and they keep your substrate clean and the correct color.

Nerite Snails are widely believed to be the single best snail in the aquarium hobby for eating algae. They are totally safe with any fish, shrimp, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Nerite Snails require salt water to reproduce, so they will never overpopulate your aquarium (as some freshwater snails are known to do).  They are also peaceful and safe with live plants, fish, and shrimp, making them great for community tanks.

These Nerite Snails reach around 1-1.2cm. They do not eat plants (only algae), so they are perfectly suitable for planted tanks.

RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS:
  • pH level range: 6.5 - 8.5
  • Temperature range: 20° - 29° C)
  • Water type: Medium-hard

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do Nerite Snail eat plants? what is their diet?

They feed on algae fouling on tank walls, snags, and stones (soft film algae, soft green algae, soft brown algae, and brown diatoms ). However, they don’t feed on tank plants. They also feed on leftover foods and waste matter in the aquarium.
Nerite snails famous feature is their appetite to algae. They really clean tanks.

2. Do Nerite Snail breed and overpopulated the aquarium?
Nerite snails will not breed in pure freshwater. They can successfully be bred only in brackish water. So if you get 2 snails, there will only be 2 snails till the rest of their life.

3. What to Expect from Us
We generally ship young adult Nerite snails that may or may not be fully grown. If you receive smaller-sized snails, they will grow up to 1 inch in diameter in a relatively short amount of time and they will have the longer lifespan to clean up the algae for you.

Warning! Avoid any food product, medication, or plant fertilizer that contains Copper of any form. Copper is toxic to invertebrates. Many commercial fish foods, medications, and plant fertilizers contain copper or more commonly copper sulfate. Always look at the ingredient list for any product going into the aquarium to ensure they are copper free.
