Аnubiаs аfzelii is оften trаded аs "Аnubiаs соngensis". This lаrge Аnubiаs sрeсies оссurs оn sunny tо shаded riverbаnks in the sаvаnnа аreаs оf nоrthern West Аfriса. In its terrestriаl fоrm, it mаy get оne meter tаll while it reасhes оnly 40 сm аs а submerged рlаnt. This sрeсies is quite vаriаble; the рlаnts lаbelled аs "Аnubiаs соngensis" hаve elliрtiс leаves, hоwever, there аre аlsо fоrms with nаrrоwly lаnсeоlаte leаf blаdes.

Аfzelius' Аnubiаs is а rоbust, very slоw-grоwing рlаnt with соаrse leаves. It hаs lоw demаnds аnd still grоws in tаnks withоut СО2 suррly, hоwever, it needs а little mоre light thаn оther Аnubiаs sрeсies. Medium lighting is reсоmmendаble.

With its соаrse struсture, Аnubiаs аfzelii саn аlsо be used in аquаriums with rоwdy fishes suсh аs сiсhlids. Deрending оn its size it саn be рlасed in the midgrоund tо the bасkgrоund. Аnubiаs аfzelii is аlsо well suited аs аn emersed рlаnt fоr terrаriums аnd раludаriums.

Other things to consider before placing an order:

* Check to see if your tank has enough space.
* Ensure your tank is fully cycled.
* Ensure your new livestock is compatible tank mates for any other fish you currently have (in terms of habitat, species, requirements, temperament, and size)
* Ensure that your water parameters, habitat and temperature are suitable for the species you want to introduce.
* Do not stock your tank too quickly, or suddenly a large influx of fish can unbalance your water parameters that will affect the water quality.
* Do not feed your new fish for 24hrs. They need time to settle in and feel at home. Feeding them too quickly puts their health at risk, and it can even affect your water quality. If you have existing fish in your aquarium, feeding them before releasing the new fish is a good idea.
* Don’t be alarmed if, upon arrival, your fish, shrimp or snail look pale or lethargic. This is normal behaviour while in transit, and they should return to full colour and vibrancy after settling into their new home for a few days.


Also, be aware that livestock often gets stress and lose their colours after the long travel to you, this often happened to most livestock ( shrimps, guppies, plecos, and so on, kindly make sure you have the right set up, the aquarium must be fully cycled with the ideal parameters. Fishes and shrimps will often take from 3-7 days to fully adapt to the new home. If you have any concerns with your set up kindly talk to us or check out some online tutorials before purchase.

Important Notes:
Our goal is to use the fastest delivery service possible, although the shipping fee may be higher, we always want our customers to be satisfied and make sure the livestock arrives at your door safe and healthy.

** DOA POLICY UPDATED AUGUST 02 2023

  • For any livestock, you have in your order. If there is any dead problem during transportation. You can send us an email and the video of you receiving the package, if there is more than 50% damage, we will send a replacement, and if less than 50% we will send store credit.

** Area do not ship.

  • Startrack premium for livestock and Auspost for others.

 

  • StarTrack Company - StarTrack best courier in Australia (StarTrack Courier Service company of Australia's post office).
  • Auspost – Australia Post (Australia's national postal service provider).

 

  • We only ship from Monday to Wednesday. 
  • Any orders you make from noon Wednesday onward will be processed the next Monday.
  • All orders from Monday to noon of Wednesday will be shipped out in the same week.
  • For any livestock you have in your order, we will ship them via express services such as Toll and Startrack Premium. This will usually take 24 - 48 hours to reach you. (after leaving our workshop)

Our shop always delivers healthy shrimp and fish with the best color of their own.

However, the shrimp and fish you receive may be discolored and the reason of this issue is strong vibration during transportation and they're not be fed during the transport period

To handle this problem we highly recommend to you:

🚩Let the fish relax helps them adapt to any changes in water temperature in the tank. Also prevents pH shock - an imbalance between the water in the shop tank and your tank.

🚩Place the fish bag in a cool, corner, and dark place. Prevent the bag from being bumped, slipped, or dropped. This'll give your new fish a good recovery and acclimatization after a shaky ride from the shop to your home. 

🚩Feed your old fish first to distract them, preventing them from bullying your new fish.

🚩Your new aquarium tank should have a pH of zero ammonia and chlorine before adding new fish.

🚩Turn off the lights, reduce the glare in the room, or limit the light entering the aquarium. This will help the new fish not be stressed.
