Lighting:
Low to medium lighting is sufficient. Stronger lighting may enhance leaf coloration. -
CO₂:
CO₂ is not required but can encourage faster and healthier growth. -
Substrate:
A nutrient-rich substrate is recommended, as Cryptocoryne species are heavy root feeders. -
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 22–28°C. -
Water Parameters:
Prefers stable water conditions with a pH of 6.0–7.5.
How to Plant Tissue Culture
- Remove the plant from the cup and rinse away all nutrient gel.
- Separate into smaller plantlets.
- Plant each portion gently into the substrate, leaving the crown above the soil.
- Space plants a few centimeters apart to allow room for growth.
Notes
- It is normal for Cryptocoryne plants to experience “crypt melt” after planting due to environmental changes. New submerged leaves will usually regrow after adaptation.
- Avoid frequently moving the plant once established.
- Suitable for foreground to midground placement depending on tank size.
