Tissue Culture - Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica'

21.00 AUD

Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica' is a hardy and attractive aquarium plant known for its textured leaves and beautiful green to bronze coloration. The Tissue Culture version is grown in sterile conditions, making it free from algae, snails, and pests — ideal for new aquarium setups.

Care Guide

  • Lighting:
Low to medium lighting is sufficient. Stronger lighting may enhance leaf coloration.
  • CO₂:
CO₂ is not required but can encourage faster and healthier growth.
  • Substrate:
A nutrient-rich substrate is recommended, as Cryptocoryne species are heavy root feeders.
  • Temperature:
    Ideal temperature range is 22–28°C.
  • Water Parameters:
Prefers stable water conditions with a pH of 6.0–7.5.

How to Plant Tissue Culture

  1. Remove the plant from the cup and rinse away all nutrient gel.
  2. Separate into smaller plantlets.
  3. Plant each portion gently into the substrate, leaving the crown above the soil.
  4. Space plants a few centimeters apart to allow room for growth.

Notes

  • It is normal for Cryptocoryne plants to experience “crypt melt” after planting due to environmental changes. New submerged leaves will usually regrow after adaptation.
  • Avoid frequently moving the plant once established.
  • Suitable for foreground to midground placement depending on tank size.
