We didn't buy a shop — we built one. Tank by tank, year by year, an empty warehouse in Western Sydney became one of Australia's largest home-breeding aquatic shops. This is our story.
Who we are
A real breeding operation you can walk into
Micro Aquatic Shop opened in 2016 with one simple obsession: healthy, beautiful aquatic life, bred the right way. What began as a handful of tanks has grown into a two-level facility with 500 aquariums — a living, breathing world of shrimp, fish, snails and plants that we raise ourselves on Sydney water. We're not a warehouse flipping stock; we're keepers, breeders and scapers who pour everything into this place — and it shows in every animal that leaves our door.

Born & raised here
Most of our shrimp, many of our fish and our snails are bred on site and grown out on Sydney water until they are strong, coloured-up and ready to thrive in your tank.
Australia’s shrimp specialists
Around 35 types of shrimp in-store — including 25 Neocaridina (Cherry) lines and 4 native Australian shrimp — plus active cross-breeding of new lines, something very few in Australia even attempt.
Grown, not just sold
We grow around 50 of our own plant lines and 10 moss types, and build display scapes in-house — so the quality that inspires you in-store is exactly what arrives at your door.
Beginners truly welcome
Guides, honest advice and a friendly team who keep these animals every single day. Ask us anything — helping with a first tank is our favourite part.
