Peaceful if kept under the right conditions

Blue King Cochu’s are small schooling tetras that do fine in a community tank when:
- kept in a group of 6 or more. 12 is better.
- given plenty of open swimming room (≈ 70 L / 20 gal+)
- housed with similarly sized, quick fish
If cramped or kept in very small numbers they get nippy, especially toward slow or long-finned tank-mates, so they’re a bit feistier than true Neon Tetras. With the conditions above they behave peacefully.

✅ Praised for its peaceful nature, the Tetra is a great addition to any soft water community aquarium. The distinct coloration of the Tetra complements the shaded green and yellow hues of most freshwater plants. In turn, the plants offer hiding places for the Tetra. The addition of rocks and driftwood also help mirror its natural habitat. The Tetra thrives in slightly acidic water and will do best when water parameters are kept constant. The Tetra is a schooling fish and will do best if kept in odd numbers of 5 or more.

✅ The Tetra will accept many small foods such as brine shrimp or daphnia, freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex, micro pellet food, and a high quality flake food.
