Bucephalandra - Red Theia

Bucephalandra - Red Theia

Bucephalandra 'Red Theia' is a striking Bucephalandra variety prized for its rich reddish tones and shimmering metallic highlights. Under optimal lighting, the leaves can display beautiful shades of red, bronze, and deep green, creating a vibrant focal point in any aquascape.

This slow-growing rhizome plant is perfect for attaching to driftwood, rocks, and other hardscape elements. Its unique coloration and compact growth make it an excellent choice for both nano tanks and larger planted aquariums. Like most Bucephalandra species, Red Theia is hardy, easy to maintain, and adapts well to a wide range of water conditions.

Care Requirements:

  • Scientific Name: Bucephalandra sp. 'Red Theia'

  • Placement: Foreground to midground, attached to rocks or driftwood

  • Growth Rate: Slow

  • Lighting: Low to moderate (higher lighting may enhance red coloration)

  • CO₂: Not required but recommended for best growth and colour development

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Temperature: 20–28°C

  • pH: 6.0–7.5

Important Note:

Do not bury the rhizome in the substrate, as this may cause the plant to rot. For best results, attach the plant to driftwood, rocks, or aquarium decorations using glue or thread.

You will receive 1 healthy Bucephalandra Red Theia plant, fully adapted to submerged aquarium conditions and ready to add colour and character to your aquarium.
