x✅ Freshwater Mussels are an interesting natural way to help filter the water in your aquarium or fishbowl. Mussels feed by filtering the water, removing tiny par- ticles such as detritus and single cell algae (“green water”), thereby helping keep the water clear and clean.

✅The Freshwater Clam is a living filter that helps keep aquarium water clear and clean. By removing uneaten food and detritus from the water column, the Freshwater Clam helps maintain water quality and lower nitrate levels.
Adults may live 60 - 70 years if conditions are right. However, studies have documented that it is not uncommon for some species of mussels to successfully reproduce only once out of seven or more years. Being host specific can make a mussel extremely sensitive to human impacts.
What do freshwater mussels eat?
Diet. Mussels are filter feeders. They eat detritus (decaying organic material), plankton (microscopic plants and animals), and bacteria trapped by their gills.
Mussels range in size form 3–6 inches. Habitat: Minimum size tank should be 10-Gallons 21 W 5242 or more with medium to fine substrate for burrowing. You can use Gravel 21 W 1800 or sand for substrate
In order to survive, mussels must gather food and oxygen from the water. They do this by drawing water in through their incurrent siphon, moving the water over their gills, and then passing the water out through their excurrent siphon.
The aquarium conditions actually do play an important role in the health of a freshwater mussel. There needs to be good flow in the aquarium to ensure that any food is being properly dispersed in the aquarium. A substrate is also ideal so the mussels can burrow themselves into it for safety. These are also proper cold-water species that prefer a temperature range between 10 - 20 degrees

- For any livestock, you have in your order. If there is any dead problem during transportation. You can send us an email and the video of you receiving the package, if there is more than 50% damage, we will send a replacement, and if less than 50% we will send store credit.

Micro Aquatic Care Instructions
xOur shop always delivers healthy shrimp and fish with the best color of their own.
However, the shrimp and fish you receive may be discolored and the reason of this issue is strong vibration during transportation and they're not be fed during the transport period
To handle this problem we highly recommend to you:
🚩Let the fish relax helps them adapt to any changes in water temperature in the tank. Also prevents pH shock - an imbalance between the water in the shop tank and your tank.
🚩Place the fish bag in a cool, corner, and dark place. Prevent the bag from being bumped, slipped, or dropped. This'll give your new fish a good recovery and acclimatization after a shaky ride from the shop to your home.
🚩Feed your old fish first to distract them, preventing them from bullying your new fish.
🚩Your new aquarium tank should have a pH of zero ammonia and chlorine before adding new fish.
🚩Turn off the lights, reduce the glare in the room, or limit the light entering the aquarium. This will help the new fish not be stressed.
