Marsilea hirsuta is an excellent foreground carpeting plant for low-tech aquariums. It is hardy, adaptable, and can thrive without CO₂ injection, making it ideal for beginners. Under stronger lighting and with added CO₂, it will spread more quickly and form a dense carpet. Trim regularly to encourage horizontal growth and maintain a neat appearance.

Tips:

• Plant small portions a few centimetres apart to encourage spreading.
• Avoid shading from larger plants.
• Root tabs or nutrient-rich substrate will help promote healthy growth.

Suitable for: Shrimp tanks, nano aquariums, and low-maintenance planted tanks. 🌱
