Seachem Purigen is a high-performance synthetic filtration resin designed to improve water quality in both freshwater and marine aquariums by removing organic pollutants. How to Use:

Before use, it’s recommended to rinse the Purigen under tap water to remove any dust particles that may have formed during packaging. Once placed in the filter, it begins working immediately to remove organic waste and clarify the water.

Dosage:

• Use 250 mL of Purigen for every 1,000 liters of aquarium water.
• For smaller tanks, use the appropriate amount proportionally, ensuring you adjust the size of the filter bag if needed.

Regeneration:

When Purigen becomes saturated with organic waste, its color changes from a pale white to dark brown or black, signaling the need for regeneration. To regenerate Purigen:

1. Soak it in a 1:1 bleach solution (non-scented household bleach) for 24 hours in a non-metallic container in a well-ventilated area.
2. Rinse thoroughly and soak in a dechlorinator (like Seachem Prime) for 8 hours to neutralize any bleach residues.
3. Rinse again with freshwater before placing it back into your aquarium.

   This regeneration process can be repeated multiple times, extending the life of Purigen and making it a more sustainable filtration choice compared to single-use filter media.
