Tissue Culture - Alternanthera Rosaefolia

18.00 AUD

Alternanthera Rosaefolia is a vibrant red aquatic plant prized for its striking pink to deep red foliage, making it an excellent contrast plant in planted aquariums. The Tissue Culture version is grown in sterile conditions, free from algae, snails, and pests — ideal for clean and healthy aquarium setups.

Care Guide

  • Lighting:
Medium to high lighting is recommended to maintain strong red coloration and compact growth.
  • CO₂:
CO₂ injection is highly recommended for faster growth, better coloration, and healthier leaves.
  • Substrate:
Nutrient-rich aquarium soil is preferred to support root development and vibrant growth.
  • Temperature:
    Ideal temperature range is 22–28°C.
  • Water Parameters:
Best grown in stable water conditions with a pH of 5.5–7.5.

How to Plant Tissue Culture

  1. Remove the plant from the cup and rinse off the nutrient gel completely.
  2. Divide into small portions or individual stems.
  3. Plant gently into the substrate using tweezers, spacing stems a few centimeters apart.
  4. Avoid burying the leaves or crown too deeply.

Notes

  • Regular trimming encourages bushier and more compact growth.
  • Strong lighting and good nutrient levels help maintain intense red coloration.
  • Some leaf melt may occur after planting while adapting to submerged conditions, but healthy new growth will develop afterward.
  • Ideal for midground to background placement in aquascaped aquariums.
