Dwarf Cichlid – Apistogramma Hongsloi

Apistogramma hongsloi is one of the most popular South American dwarf cichlids, admired for its vibrant colours and peaceful nature. Males display stunning pink to deep red body coloration with bold black markings and elegant extended dorsal and caudal fins, while females are yellowish in colour and become even more vibrant during breeding.

This beautiful dwarf cichlid thrives in well-planted aquariums with driftwood, caves, and plenty of hiding places. It occupies the lower to mid levels of the aquarium and is an excellent choice for peaceful community tanks with species such as tetras, rasboras, pencilfish, and Corydoras. In soft, slightly acidic water, Apistogramma Hongsloi will display its best colours and may even breed in the home aquarium.
